#9 Q&A: How YOU Can Land a Marketing Job
It’s not a secret that today’s job market is pretty competitive. And when it comes to getting a job in marketing, you’re going to face stiff competition as someone on Reddit quickly found out. We answering this question using our experience obtaining marketing jobs and the very different approaches we took to get to where we are now.
The number one thing you can do to get a job in marketing (or really any field for that matter), is to network. Start off with building your social media profiles with some quality content and search hashtags and key phrases to find other people who share your interests. Comment, share/retweet, and message them to build a connection with them. Don't ask them for anything or "sell" them right away. This is the easiest thing to start with.
Taking it to the next level would be attending MeetUps, conferences, and other networking events. It's all about who you know. Of course, your skill matters, but if you dive into networking, you'll be amazed at the opportunities that will appear.
